About Pearson / Rodgers Family
Please sign in to see more.
The Pearson side of the family comes from Sweden where Per Esbjörnsson and Johanna Pålsdotter had seven children. The oldest, Pål Edvard, moved to the USA in 1890 his brother Carl followed in 1891 and his sister Albertina in 1896. Albertina later returned to Sweden. They probably traveled as Persson (Per's Son). Edward (Pål Edvard) married Inga Maria (last name uncertain) in Chicago on October 16, 1901. In the 1910 census, the last name was spelled Pierson, but by 1920 the spelling was Pearson, as it is now. Carl seems to have started using the name Charles, he married Elsie Oberg in Chicago on April 5, 1905.

The Rodgers side of the family has been traced back as far as Nathan Rogers (1782- 1842) and Nancy Peacock (1795-1870). The oldest of their 13 children was Harrison Rogers who married Francis Johnson on Febuary 1, 1840 in Henry County, Indiana. The marriage shows Harrison as Rodgers. Harrison and Francis had a number of children and I believe that Eli was their 11th, and last, child. Eli (1865- 1933) was married to Alzina Eggers and had a son Charles Lincoln. Alzina passed away while Charles was still a young boy. Eli then married Maude Godlove and they had two children, Raymond Perry and Ethel Laverne.
